Applying for membership
Membership is by application, and applying is free. You apply from a free account (see Creating your account), with your email address confirmed and your mobile number verified.
How joining works
- Apply. Tell us about yourself. It takes about five minutes.
- A short call. If your application moves forward, our team calls you for a conversation of 20 to 30 minutes.
- The committee decides. Your chapter's membership committee meets every week.
- Your offer. If you're accepted, we email you a private offer, open for seven days. See Your offer.
- You're a member as soon as you accept it.
The application
Go to your chapter's Apply page (or Apply for membership anywhere on the site). You can apply to your own chapter only: the one your account belongs to.

| Referred by a member? | Optional: their email address, so we can ask them about you. |
Each answer can be up to 2,000 characters.
Last, tick the box agreeing that we may call and text you at the number on your account about your application. We can't arrange your call without it. Agreeing isn't a condition of membership, and you can reply STOP to any text to opt out.
Click Submit application. We email you to say it arrived.
After you apply
Your application's progress shows in Account › Profile, under Membership, and on your chapter's home page:

| Offer sent | The committee approved you. Your private offer is waiting: See your offer. |
| Member | Welcome. |
| Waitlist | The chapter has no place for you right now. We'll contact you if one opens. |
| Not accepted | We weren't able to offer you membership this time. You're welcome to apply again. |
You can have one application open at a time.
